Almost One

I can't believe Allistar turned eleven months old on Friday! Seriously!? If the first year flies by like this year has we could have 5 more kids and I wouldn't even notice that I was 40. This won't be happening...I'm just messing around!!

What a sweet boy he is. Today was the first day in a long time, almost 5 months, that I got him to fall asleep for his nap without his pooty. I was relieved and sad at the same time. He needs to get rid of it sooner rather than later cuz he has teeth in already and he doesn't even really use it. I want him to just suck on his blanket if he needs comfort and I'm not there, like in the middle of the night to fall back asleep. But by the time I lay him down for his naps he is usually too tired or not tired enough and screams if i don't give him his pooty. For the last couple weeks I've not been giving it to him before bed cuz he's tired enough to just go to sleep. This morning he was too I guess. I just hope he can keep handling the switch as well as this morning.

A couple people have been asking for ideas for birthday/Christmas gifts for him already so here's a couple.

Not that I'm against toys but he really doesn't care about the ones we have. He does love hitting things and I think there is a toy drum out there that lights up and plays music. He also looooves Thomas the train right now. A picture for his room of some trains or stuffed trains or even battery operated trains that will fit on the train table are all good bets. We only have 1 Thomas book right now, and it plays sounds and he loves it. We read it every night before bed and most nap times too. I sure would like another train book cuz I'm getting mighty sick of this one. He also likes those books with the fur you can feel, etc. We don't have very many bath toys, but our kids love taking baths together now. We don't have any Thomas DVD's either. Well, that's a great start if I do say so. He could use a scarf for the winter too, and a coat that fits him (size 18months I think). He will be wearing Keegan's old one from last year, but it's a size 2 so it's pretty big still.

Sam is Sweet as Sugar

Meet Sam, Chels' horse and other bff!

I spent a beautiful fall day with one of my best friends in the world and her sweet horse Sam. I can understand why she loves him so much, and I think I fell in love a bit too.

Oh Sam I just love your soft fuzzy ears!

Organization Extravaganza!

For the last couple weeks Nathanael has been looking for different shelving units on Kijiji. I thought he was just looking for some to put our homemade hard cider and wine on, but they were for organizing the basement. Huzzah! He knows me too well! I looooove an organized space. I forgot to take some before pictures, but we spent about 5 hours altogether deciding where to put things and organizing our basement in the hopes that now it's not so overwhelming. Before it was boxes piled everywhere and bags thrown here and there. We can actually find things now, and we even have 1 set of shelves empty!

Now we can seal up the walls in the basement (they're already insulated) and put up some drywall/wallboard and start using it! The empty shelves will probably just get filled with DVD's when we move some couches and a TV down there. I even have some designated sewing shelves and my old desk to sew on. Now that it's cooler outside we can ignore those projects and focus on some inside ones.

Red Poop and Other Mysteries

We went shopping on Friday at Costco and I bought a "big" container(probly about 60 in there) of those little grape tomatoes because they are the only tomatoes Keegan will eat. They also make a great snack for the boys too. I left them on the stove and left the lid open so Keegan could munch on them without Allistar dumping the whole container. He had a couple friday night after supper. Saturday I went to the craft show with Chels so it was just Nathanael and the boys at home.  The tomatoes were still open on the stove, and Nathanael saw Keegan had eaten quite a few so he told him no more. The next time he went in the kitchen, to make some lunch, the tomatoes were all gone! Keegan ate a large container of tomatoes in less that 24 hours. Oh my. Needless to say he pooped "red, seedy" poops about 3 or 4 times the next day. I'm sure it cleaned him out well. We won't be leaving tomatoes out again. I think that's all he ate on Saturday.

This Week

Sorry I haven't been around much. This week has FLOWN by! On friday my little man turned 11 months old. Yyyyyyyyyyyikes! Where has this year gone?! I am sooooooooo sad that he's turning 1 in less than a month. I don't like to think about it. He's so snuggly and this week has been saying "mama" a lot! Saturday I went to a craft show and Nathanael said most of the day he was crawling around saying "mama" looking for me. It just melts me. I'll try report more later, but for now I need to finish organizing my basement onto shelves ...the BEST invention ever!!
